ABS carried out design reviews in line with class requirements, assessing the vessel’s power system, including power generation, conversion, and propulsion motors. The approval marks the completion of the project’s first development phase.
Looking ahead, HD Hyundai plans to launch the second phase in 2026, incorporating energy storage systems and advanced propulsion drives. The move is aimed at accelerating the path toward commercialising zero-carbon ship technologies.
