Houston is seeing good demand for this week, especially for HSFO. Buyers are advised to book up to 5-7 days in advance, down from last week’s 4-8 days.
VLSFO is also readily available in the port, with similar lead times to HSFO’s, a bunker trader told ENGINE. LSMGO stems have been fixed with lead times of 3-7 days, but also prompter 0-3 days.
In New York, prompt deliveries are possible, but buyers are advised to book stems a few days in advance to avoid paying prompt premiums.
“East Coast demand has been very slow this week,” a trader said.
Latin America and the Caribbean
Bunker demand has been slow in Panama this week. Prompt deliveries are possible in Balboa. VLSFO has been fixed there with a lead time of 3-7 days this week.
As for Cristobal, lead times of 7-8 days are advised for all grades.
In Brazil, lead times for VLSFO and LSMGO differ depending on the port and available stock.
VLSFO availability is tight in Rio de Janeiro, while LSMGO is readily available. Santos has been congested with vessels, but VLSFO and LSMGO grades are available.
In Paranagua, LSMGO is not available while VLSFO can be delivered by 22 November at the earliest. Rio Grande has decent availability of VLSFO, LSMGO and B24-VLSFO.
In OPL Sepetiba and Itaqui, lead times of 2-3 days are recommended for VLSFO and LSMGO deliveries. Both grades are also readily available in the ports of Rio Grande, Belem and Vila do Conde.
In Salvador, deliveries of VLSFO and LSMGO are very tight and can be supplied by 20 November at the earliest.
