Baleària bunkers three vessels with LNG in Barcelona

Spanish shipping firm Baleària has bunkered three of its vessels with LNG in the port of Barcelona.

Some 2,320 megawatt-hours (152 mt) of LNG was supplied to three ferries owned by Baleària, it said.

The LNG was supplied by using eight trucks, Baleària said. The three separate bunkering operations happened on the same day - a first in Spain, it added.

Two ferries, Margarita Salas and Bahama Mama, were bunkered by three trucks, while the third ferry, Martín i Soler, was supplied with LNG from two trucks, Baleària said.
