Barge maintenance to tighten Kaohsiung bunker supply

State-owned bunker supplier CPC Corporation has announced that bunkering capacity at Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Port will be limited from 12-17 October, as its bunker barge Bao Shan No. 2 will temporarily be out of service for unexpected equipment maintenance.

The outage is expected to affect around one-third of Kaohsiung’s bunker supply capacity, a Taiwan-based source said.

CPC has advised bunker buyers to make arrangements as early as possible to allow sufficient time for barge scheduling.

Lead times for VLSFO and LSMGO are expected to increase to around 3-4 days during this period, up from about two days currently, the source added.
