Each 93,000-cbm vessel will be capable of operating on both LPG and conventional marine fuels. The vessels are scheduled for delivery by 2029.
“The agreement follows BGN’s recent order for four additional dual-fuel VLGCs and increases the company’s owned LPG VLGC fleet to 19 vessels,” the company said.
LPG dominated the alternative fuel-capable vessel orderbook with 26 newbuild orders in May, according to classification society DNV. Global LPG-capable fleet currently comprises 168 vessels in operation and 146 on order for delivery through 2030.
