Each vessel will accommodate 180 passengers and is designed to sail up to 100 nautical miles (about 200 km) at 20 knots on a single charge.
The vessels' hulls will be constructed by Norwegian manufacturer Herde Kompositt, while final outfitting and system integration will be carried out by Horten Shipyards.
The vessels will operate cruise services along Norway’s coast, with their maiden voyages scheduled for spring 2027.
Brim Explorer has invested around NOK 200 million (approximately $21 million) in the project and has secured NOK 40 million (about $4 million) in funding from Enova SF, the Norwegian government’s climate and energy investment fund that supports green technology initiatives.
