The company will supply VLSFO and LSMGO, sourced from Brazilian producer Acelen. Bunkers will be supplied to vessels alongside the port and at inner anchorages using barges, it said.

The minimum order quantity is 250 mt in total, which can be combined across fuel grades, with lead times recommended around 11 days, a source said.

“The new operation is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of vessels, including cruise ships during the summer season, oil tankers, bulk carriers, container vessels, general cargo ships, and offshore support vessels,” the company said.

This expansion will strengthen Bunker One’s presence along South America’s Atlantic coast, it added.

Bunker One recently started supplying HSFO in New York after acquiring commodity trading firm Element Alpha’s New York Harbor storage position. It said the acquisition would help expand its "East Coast bunkering network from Brazil and the Caribbean to New York.”

The company also supplies conventional fuels in Houston, New Orleans, Mobile and other locations along the US Gulf Coast.
