Bunker supply unaffected by oil spill in Singapore
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has reported an oil spill incident that occurred off Changi during a bunkering operation between a bulk carrier and a licensed bunker tanker yesterday.

An estimated five mt of oil reportedly overflowed during a bunkering operation from the receiving Bahamas-flagged bulk carrier, Ines Corrado. The bunker delivery was halted immediately, and MPA vessels promptly arrived, spraying dispersants to address the spill while alerting relevant government agencies.
However, MPA hasn’t disclosed the name of the bunker tanker involved.
No oil has been sighted in the surrounding sea or along the shore so far. To ensure caution, a Current Buster—an advanced oil recovery tool—has been deployed off Changi.
Bunkering operations in Singapore remain unaffected by the spill, according to one source, with another source confirming there has been “no impact” and that “bunker operations are normal.”
MPA has also requested the Malaysian authorities to monitor any oil sightings and help investigate the incident.
