Port Kembla, located on the east coast of the Illawarra region in New South Wales, has had its anchorage closed to shipping since yesterday due to bad weather. A gale warning has been issued, predicting strong southeasterly winds of up to 40 knots, according to GAC Hot Port News.
Despite this, the port remains open for harbor movements. Bunkering at Port Kembla is conducted via ex-pipe delivery, with marine fuel delivered directly to ships through a pipeline from the terminal. Ex-pipe supply continues to run smoothly, keeping bunkering unaffected there.
"The port remains open to harbour movements and may face some disruption with pilotage during this period as shipping will be assessed on a case-by-case basis," GAC Hot Port News added.
