Cavotec wins contract to supply Maldives’ first shore power system
Marine engineering company Cavotec has secured a contract from India-based shipping services provider Mohan Mutha Group to supply shore power systems in the Maldives.

The systems will allow vessels at berth to plug into onshore electricity, cutting berth emissions and reducing reliance on auxiliary engines.
The order covers five units, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2026.
This represents “the first shore power installation in the Maldives,” Cavotec noted.
Details such as the port’s name or the installation timeline have not been disclosed.
The project could pave the way for further opportunities in neighbouring island nations and South Asia, Cavotec added.
