China Merchants Shipping launches methanol dual-fuel vessel

Chinese shipping company China Merchants Shipping has launched a methanol dual-fuel roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ship in Nantong, China.

The vessel, built by China Merchants Industry, is designed to run on both methanol and conventional marine fuels.

It is the world's largest methanol dual-fuel car carrier under construction, according to China Merchants Shipping.

The ship is now entering the commissioning and sea trial phase and is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025.

However, the company has not disclosed the vessel’s name or its intended deployment location.
