CMA CGM launches methanol dual-fuel container ship

French shipping company CMA CGM has launched its new methanol dual-fuel container ship, CMA CGM Helium, in South Korea.

The vessel can run on both methanol and conventional marine fuels and will operate on routes connecting China, Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Lebanon, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

In September, CMA CGM launched its fifth methanol dual-fuel ship, the CMA CGM Mercury, as part of a planned fleet of 12 such vessels scheduled for delivery by 2026.
