CMA CGM teams up with SUEZ to fuel LNG fleet with biomethane

French shipping giant CMA CGM and Spanish biomethane producer SUEZ Group plan to develop biomethane plants with a total capacity of 100,000 mt/year.

Production is expected to begin by 2030, and CMA CGM has committed to offtake the entire output for its LNG-capable fleet.

CMA CGM currently operates at least 35 LNG-capable container ships, according to its website.

The plants will be located in Europe, though specific locations and production methods have not yet been disclosed.
