Dalian Shipbuilding to build LNG bunkering vessel

Chinese shipbuilder Dalian Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has signed a deal with Zhongneng Fuel Injection Technology (Shanghai) to build a 20,000 cbm LNG bunkering vessel.

The vessel marks China’s first domestically developed bunkering vessel to feature an advanced membrane-type cargo containment system, which uses thin, flexible membranes supported by insulation to store cargo, according to Dalian Shipbuilding.

It has been classified by the China Classification Society.

However, Dalian Shipbuilding has not disclosed further details, including where the vessel will be deployed.
