The company has placed additional orders for two 8,258 TEU container ships that are methanol-ready, the Greek shipowner stated in its financial report.

Methanol-ready means that the vessels will not be capable of running on methanol upon delivery, but they will have the option to be retrofitted for methanol propulsion in the future. This implies they will likely run on fossil-marine fuels upon delivery.

With these new orders, the firm now has 12 methanol-ready container vessels under construction. In 2024, six vessels are expected to be delivered. Two vessels are to be delivered in 2025, three vessels in 2026, and one vessel in 2027.
