J. Lauritzen has recently signed a letter of intent with Japan’s Tsuneishi shipyard for the construction of two dual-fuel methanol bulk carriers.

The vessels will be chartered to global commodity trader Cargill for a period of at least seven years, J. Lauritzen says. To reduce emissions, it also intends to run these vessels on green methanol or biodiesel.
