Skovgaard Energy has planned a green ammonia plant in Ramme, Denmark. The facility is expected to produce about 5,000 mt/year of green ammonia using solar and wind energy starting this year.

The company has partnered with German engine manufacturer MAN Energy Solutions (MAN ES) to “develop, test and operate” four-stroke ammonia-capable marine engines powered by its green ammonia.

Denmark’s public grant-based programme, the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP), is also supporting the initiative.
