Deltamarin to design six methanol-capable vessels

Finnish ship designer Deltamarin has been commissioned by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai) to design six methanol dual-fuel RoPax (roll-on/roll-off passenger) vessels.

The vessels will be able to run on both conventional marine fuels and methanol. They will also be equipped to connect to shore power.

Ordered by Italy’s Grimaldi Group, four of the ships will be operated by Grimaldi Lines, and the remaining two by its subsidiary, Minoan Lines.

The vessels are scheduled for deliveries between 2028 and 2030.
