DFDS installs shore power at Rotterdam terminal

Danish shipping firm DFDS has installed shore power at its Vlaardingen terminal in the Port of Rotterdam.

The shore power system will be powered by wind and solar energy, DFDS said in a social media post.

It is estimated that using this system will reduce around 2,100-2,300 mt/year of well-to-wake CO2 emissions for docked ships that are compatible with this system, as opposed to using diesel-powered generators, DFDS claimed.
