Eastern Pacific takes delivery of LNG-capable dual fuel car carrier

Singapore-based shipowner Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has taken delivery of a new LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) that Spain's Suardiaz Group will operate under a charter.

The 5,500 CEU vessel RS Atlantico was built at the Xiamen shipyard which is a part of China’s Fujian Chuanzheng Shipbuilding group. The vessel was developed as a collaboration between EPS and Suardiaz.

The vessel has left the shipyard for Europe, Suardiaz said. During the launch of the vessel in June, Suardiaz said it will operate on the company's Atlantic routes.

It is the first PCTC newbuilding EPS has chartered to Suardiaz, and the first LNG dual-fuel PCTC to join Suardiaz's operations.
