Erik Thun takes delivery of LNG dual-fuel tanker

Swedish shipping company Erik Thun has taken delivery of an LNG dual-fuel tanker from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou, China.

The 17,999-TEU tanker, Thun Vettern, can run on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and conventional marine fuels.

The vessels will be equipped to use shore power where it is available.

The vessel is part of the Gothia Tanker Alliance, which is a Sweden-based collaborative partnership of shipping companies focused on the joint operation and management of a fleet of tankers.
