This marks the first time a cruise vessel has been bunkered with “pure biofuel” in Iceland, Skeljungur said. It noted that sourcing “clean biofuels” for cruise ships remains a challenge in many foreign ports, “but not in Iceland.”
The fuel was delivered to the Scarlet Lady cruise ship by one of Skeljungur’s own biofuel-powered trucks, the company added.
