FLEX Commodities starts bunker supply in Lomé
FLEX Commodities has begun physical bunker supply operations in Togo’s Lomé with the addition of a new barge, citing steady customer demand for bunkering in the location.

FLEX’s barge, Chaser, supplies VLSFO and LSMGO at the Lomé Anchorage, typically within 12 nautical miles, FLEX Commodities managing partner Rakesh Sharma told ENGINE. Each delivery is subject to standard permits from the Togolese Navy and local maritime and port authorities.
“Our move into Lomé was directly catalyzed by sustained enquiries from our core client base,” Sharma said.
He said high volumes of passing ships and deepwater port calls by container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and offshore vessels support the operation.
Sharma added that Lomé also positions FLEX to serve ships across the wider Lomé-Abidjan corridor, including offshore areas off Ghana and the Abidjan region of Côte d’Ivoire, depending upon necessary approvals and operational feasibility.
FLEX started physical bunker supply at Namibia’s Walvis Bay last November, delivering VLSFO and LSMGO with the barge Splendour Opal in partnership with GAC Investment, in the offshore area and within port limits.
