Fujairah’s bunker sales records decline for fifth consecutive month
Weaker sales across VLSFO weighed on Fujairah’s bunker market, causing total sales to fall 10% in June, according to FOIZ and S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Changes in Fujairah bunker fuel sales from May to June:
- Total sales down by 10% to 85,000 mt
- VLSFO sales down by 40% to 34,000 mt
- HSFO sales up by 34% to 42,000 mt
- LSMGO sales up by 5% to 6,300 mt
Fujairah’s bunker sales fell to multi-year lows in June, averaging around 2,800 mt/day, down by roughly 200 mt/day from May.
Sales of VLSFO, usually the most in-demand bunker fuel grade, declined by nearly 23,000 mt during the month.
By contrast, HSFO sales increased sharply by 11,000 mt to 42,000 mt in June. On a daily basis, HSFO sales averaged around 1,400 mt/day, up from 1,000 mt/day in May.
