The construction of an LNG bunkering vessel, to be jointly owned by Finish state-owned energy company Gasum and Sweden's Sirius Shipping, is now underway.

The vessel, Celsius, is scheduled for delivery next year, and is being built by Turkey's RMK Marine.
Gasum expects a sharp rise in LNG-capable vessels calling at ports across Northwestern Europe in the years ahead. Globally, the LNG-capable fleet currently numbers 846 vessels, with a further 642 units due for delivery by 2033, according to data from DNV.
Beyond vessel operations, Gasum also runs a FuelEU pooling arrangement in the Baltic region, where liquefied biomethane (LBM) is used as the main compliance fuel. Under the EU’s FuelEU Maritime regulation, pooling allows shipowners to share compliance across fleets. Vessels that exceed greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets can transfer surplus compliance to others that fall short, enabling them to offset deficits and avoid penalties.
Gasum’s two bunkering vessels, Coralius and Kairos, are included in this pooling scheme.
