While bunker calls were up on the year, they fell by 11% from January.

The port received 738 bunker calls in the first two months of this year, recording a 9% spike from 680 ships from the same period last year.

Meanwhile, three cruise ships arrived for bunkers in in February, a slight decrease from five vessels in January. In February 2024, only one cruise vessel called for bunkering in Gibraltar.

Bunker fuel demand in Gibraltar usually increases with cruise traffic, which peaks during the summer months from April to September.

A total of eight cruise ships called at Gibraltar in the first two months of this year, an uptick from two in the same period a year ago.
