Ionada is working to develop and test a prototype carbon capture system with the Green Shipping Programme, a cross-sectoral coalition led by the Norwegian government. Among its members are the classification society DNV, Swedish-Swiss multinational ABB and oil and gas firm Equinor.
The company claims its device has 30% greater efficiency than "conventional marine carbon capture systems" and captures up to 99% of post-combustion carbon dioxide.
