The innovative technology uses advanced airflow methods to maximize thrust and fuel efficiency from a compact unit.
Designed for commercial shipping, the system promises to reduce a vessel's fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 30%. This will help ship owners to comply with environmental standards set by the European Union (EU) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) while saving on fuel costs, GT Wings claims.
The first installation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024 on a 124-meter general cargo vessel from Carisbrooke Shipping.
