GTT receives two new tank design orders for CMES’ LNG carriers

French LNG containment specialist GTT will design the tanks of two 175,000-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers set to be delivered by the third quarter of 2026.

Chinese shipyard Dalian Shipbuilding (DSIC) has ordered tanks for the LNG carriers it is building for Shanghai-listed China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).

The tanks will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system, which it explains as "a cryogenic liner used to contain liquefied gas at low temperatures during shipping, onshore and offshore storage, at atmospheric pressure,”
