Hapag-Lloyd receives sixth LNG dual-fuel vessel

German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has taken the delivery of an LNG dual-fuel container ship, the sixth in a series of 12 such vessels.

Similar to other vessels in the series, the new vessel is equipped with MAN dual-fuel engine that can run on conventional marine fuel and LNG.

The newbuild, Damietta Express,was built in South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean Shipyard.

The vessel can also plug into shore power supply, enabling auxiliary onboard diesel engine to be shut down while it is docked in a port.
