Houston Ship Channel reopens – Norton Lilly

Houston Ship Channel reopened for outbound vessel traffic at 10.00 local time (16.00 GMT) today, after fog suspended traffic for 11 hours, local shipping agent Norton Lilly says.

There are around 17 vessels waiting to enter the channel inbound, 20 vessels waiting outbound and two shifting vessels pending now, Norton Lilly says.

Houston Ship Channel is a key waterway for vessels going in and out of ports in the Houston area, including Houston, Galveston, Baytown and Texas City.
