Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding’s vessel designs get CCS nod

China Classification Society (CCS) has granted approval in principle certificates to two vessel designs prepared by Chinese shipyard CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.

It has given approval to a 3,500 TEU container ship equipped with an ammonia dual-fuel engine, capable of running on both ammonia and conventional marine fuels.

The second approval is for an 82,000-mt bulk carrier with a methanol dual-fuel engine, allowing it to operate on both methanol and conventional fuels.
