HYON to implement hydrogen fuelling tech on zero-emission cruise vessel

Norwegian hydrogen tech company HYON will implement its hydrogen fuelling technology on the Norwegian cruise line Northern Xplorer’s vessel and develop a safe and cost-efficient fuelling procedure.

This is an “important step towards the implementation of hydrogen fueling technology” in the pursuit of emission-free fuelling solutions in the industry, according to HYON’s chief executive Jørn Lindtvedt.

The vessel, MM 140, is a zero-emission inland water cruise ship with fully electric propulsion and batteries that can be charged by shore power, renewable energy, or hydrogen fuel cells.
