LNG was transferred from bunker barge Keys Azalea to ASUKA III, a dual-fuel cruise ship operated by Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) in a ship-to-ship (STS) operation.

This is the first time the KEYS Azalea has bunkered a cruise ship. Previously, the barge had supplied LNG to car carriers, iron ore and coal bulk carriers, according to NYK.

It also marks the first STS LNG bunkering operation involving a cruise ship in Japan, NYK added.
