Kumiai Navigation orders LPG dual-fuel VLGC
Singaporean shipping firm Kumiai Navigation has ordered an LPG dual-fuel Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) from Japanese shipbuilder Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI).

The 86,700-cbm capacity vessel will be able to run on LPG or conventional marine fuels.The carrier will be fully capable of carrying ammonia in addition to LPG.
The company expects the vessel to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Upon delivery, the gas carrier will be deployed under a seven-year charter agreement with Canadian infrastructure company AltaGas. It will be utilised to export LPG from western Canada to the Far East and Asia.
The new deal takes Kumiai Navigation’s LPG dual-fuel VLGC order tally to four with KHI.
