The 86,700-cbm very large gas carrier (VLGC) will be fuelled by liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and low-sulphur fuel oil.
The vessel will be equipped with separate cargo tanks capable of transporting LPG and liquid ammonia simultaneously, KHI says.
The vessel will be built by KHI at its Sakaide Works shipyard in Japan and is expected to be delivered by 2026.
Kumiai Navigation ordered its second LPG/liquid ammonia carrier from KHI last month. The first two vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2025.
