The 7,800-dwt dual-fuel vessel, Sofia, can run on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and conventional marine fuels.

Initially, it will use LNG fuel, which "can be directly replaced by liquefied biogas (LBG)," it says.

The vessel is prepared for future shore power and battery installations as well, Langh Ship claims.

The company took delivery of its first vessel of the series, Lovisa, in November 2023, followed by Olivia in January this year. All the vessels have been built by Wuhu shipyard in China.

Steel producer Outokumpu will employ all the vessels in the liner service between Finland and the Netherlands.
