LR approves two new ammonia dual-fuel vessel concepts

Finland-based ship designer Deltamarin and China Merchants Heavy Industry have jointly designed the two new ammonia dual-fuelled Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs).

The two ammonia-dual-fuelled VLACs have a capacity of 88,000 cbm and 93,000 cbm, respectively.
Apart from these, the duo also received AiPs for concept designs of an ethane dual-fuelled ethane carrier (VLEC) and two LPG dual-fuelled Very Large LPG Carriers (VLGCs).
These approvals were announced at the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition 2024, which was held in Athens last week.
