The 155,000 cbm ethane carrier will be equipped with a dual-fuel engine from German manufacturer MAN Energy Solutions, capable of running on both ethane and conventional marine fuels.
In addition to ethane, the vessel will be fully capable of carrying LPG, propylene, and ethylene.
MARIC is a subsidiary of shipbuilding conglomerate China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
This month, DNV also approved MARIC’s new ammonia-ready bulk carrier concept.
