A multi-purpose vessel is a ship designed to carry different types of cargo, including containers, bulk goods and heavy-lift items.
The vessel, Prima Verde, is equipped with two rigid sails from Dutch wind-power company EconoWind, designed to harness wind energy and reduce fuel consumption.
A rigid sail is a solid, airfoil-shaped structure that harnesses wind power to assist in a vessel's propulsion.
The vessel will be operated by MOL Drybulk, a subsidiary of MOL, and owned by another Japanese firm Daishin Shipping.
