The Kohzan Maru VII is a dual-fuel vessel capable of running on both methanol and conventional marine fuels.

Built by South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Mipo, the ship is owned by Eifuku Kaiun and will operate under a long-term charter with MOL for Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company.

It is the first ocean-going methanol dual-fuel vessel to sail under a long-term charter agreement by a Japanese company, according to MOL.
