MSC and Singapore MPA sign deal to boost LBM bunkering

Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), and Swiss shipping firm MSC, have signed an agreement to support maritime decarbonization by increasing adoption of alternative fuels like liquefied biomethane (LBM) in shipping.

Apart from maritime decarbonization, the MOU signed between the two parties also includes agreements to explore new routes to strengthen connectivity.
MSC and MPA will also advance technologies to improve vessel energy efficiency and operational performance, the press release said.
There is currently no LBM bunkering being carried out in Singapore.
