The two 48,500-cbm capacity vessels can run on ethane and conventional marine fuels. Additionally, both vessels will be ammonia-ready, allowing future retrofitting for ammonia propulsion.

The carriers will be fully capable of carrying ethane, LPG and ammonia in addition to ethylene. Jiangnan Shipyard and China Shipbuilding Trading are constructing the vessels, with deliveries scheduled for November 2027 and January 2028.

In August, Navigator Gas placed an order for two ethane dual-fuel ethylene gas carriers from the same shipyards.
