The company aims to produce jatropha oil as a straight vegetable oil (SVO), which will be blended with conventional fuels in 30-50% ratios (B30-B50).
Jatropha oil has a slightly lower energy content than conventional bunker fuels, but the engine output is the same according to tests, according to the company.
There are currently no active biofuel bunkering options available on the African continent.
