The recipients include ports of Kristiansand, Trondheim, Nordkapp region, Grenland Harbour, Alta and Nordfjord as well as shore power providers Havnekraft and Fjuel.

Including this grant, Norway has awarded over NOK 1 billion ($95.34 million) in funding to 131 shore power projects since 2016, ENOVA SF said in a social media post. 86 of these projects have been completed so far.

ENOVA also plans to fund the development of battery-powered vessels.

“As more battery-powered vessels are [being] built, there is also a need for the development of charging infrastructure, and Enova is currently preparing a new support program for charging infrastructure for maritime transport,” Rune Holmen, head of maritime transport at Enova said.
