NYK Line launches fifth LNG-fuelled PCTC

Japanese shipping company NYK Line has launched its fifth LNG-fuelled pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), Freesia Leader.

The PCTC arrived at the port of Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture in Japan. It is the third of four LNG-fuelled vessels built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) in China. The first in the series, Jasmine Leader, was delivered in February.

On arrival, the vessel was bunkered with an unspecified amount of LNG by Kaguya, an LNG bunker barge operated by Central LNG Marine Fuel.

The vessel will be used for transporting finished vehicles manufactured by Japanese car maker Toyota Motor.
