The vessel Luna Pathfinder is equipped to run on both, LPG and conventional marine fuels. It is also designed to carry ammonia, in addition to LPG.
Built at the Sakaide Works of Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan, the dual-fuel vessel will be chartered by Tokyo-based LPG trader, Astomos Energy.
This is NYK Line’s sixth dual-fuel LPG carrier, following the delivery of the Liberty Pathfinder in October last year.
The global fleet of LPG-fuelled vessels currently numbers 133, comprising 131 LPG carriers and two LPG/ammonia carriers, according to classification society DNV.
