The vesselhas started providing services to Mazda Motor Corporation. The vessel will transport vehicles, including those manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation. The company said that the goal is to meet the demand for environmentally friendly logistics.
The Sumire Leader has a total length of 199.9 meters and a beam of 38 meters. The 71,546 mt PCPT vessel can carry up to 7,000 units.
NYK aims to reduce carbon emissions as part of its strategy to transition towards a greener future. To achieve this, they have identified LNG as a bridging solution. NYK plans to integrate 20 new PCTCs fuelled by LNG into its Sail GREEN brand by 2028.
