Oceania Bunkering to launch STS bunkering at Mozambique’s Beira Anchorage

Mozambique-based bunker supplier Oceania Bunkering Mozambique is set to launch ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering operations at Beira Anchorage in October, expanding fuel supply options for vessels operating along the country’s coast.

The operation will be supported by the 2,500-mt-capacity bunker barge Great Wall Energy, which was delivered in mid-September. Initially, the company will supply LSMGO, with plans to add other fuel grades, including VLSFO, as operations expand later this year.

The new service comes as vessels increasingly take longer routes around the Cape of Good Hope, creating greater demand for additional bunkering locations. Beira will provide a reliable source of LSMGO for vessels transiting the Mozambique Channel, Oceania Bunkering Mozambique said.

The initiative is backed by Petromoc and CFM Logistics, Mozambican state entities involved in fuel supply and port operations.

Oceania Bunkering Mozambique already supplies marine fuels including VLSFO, MGO and HSFO, at Maputo, Beira, Nacala, Pemba and Quelimane.
