Under the initiative, ONE will utilise sustainable biofuels for propulsion, and says this will cut its well-to-wake CO2 emissions by up to 84% compared to VLSFO.
The global supply chain and logistics company Yusen Logistics will offer this as a green shipping option to its customers, enabling them to reduce their Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Scope 3 GHG emissions are emissions from an organisation's value chain, which includes activities not directly owned or controlled by the organisation. These are voluntary emissions reductions.
ONE will bunker UCOME (used cooking oil methyl ester), a biodegradable biofuel sourced from restaurants and other cooking sources.
